There are many different sides to sustainability. As we can’t source our raw material in the quality that we need directly in Europe, we felt it was important to at least ensure that there are no long distances between the various stages of production. That’s why the production steps for buttertea garments, from yarn manufacturing to finished knitwear, all take place in Tuscany.
Our fibres are dyed, our yarns spun, and our buttertea sweaters and cardigans knitted, washed and finished, ready for sending to our customers, all within just six kilometres of the former textiles stronghold of Prato, 25 km from Florence.
Every little step helps us reach our goal of keeping planet Earth liveable for future generations.
And incidentally, the fibres for our gorgeous yarns are transported to Tuscany by rail and not on-board giant container ships.
